The day the robot judged me

Polishing the Calacatta marble in the foyer at 7:45 because the principal likes to see his cuff reflected, the robot vacuum declared ‘Obstacle detected: excessive sheen’ and scuttled back to its dock like it was filing a grievance. Anyone else feel judged by an appliance the moment you use a whisper too much lemon oil?

Run the bot before the 7:45 cuff-mirror buff, dawg — once I flipped the order, mine stopped throwing ‘Obstacle detected: excessive sheen’ and it still looked money after a quick dry microfiber pass. If you absolutely have to polish first, a skinny matte runner down its path keeps the lidar from panicking.

I set a no-go zone across the foyer during the 7:30–8:00 shine fest and moved the dock to the mudroom; since then mine stopped throwing ‘Obstacle detected: excessive sheen’ and still makes first rounds on time… If your model doesn’t have zones, a magnetic boundary strip or even a folded towel at the threshold works in a pinch. What robot are you on?
